Using Q1

We got this Q1 from Best Buy in June, 2006. Here is what we did with this new β€œtoy”:

Check news: Since Q1 got a build-in WiFi, we can connect to Internet at any place when we at home. Sometimes, we are lazy to turn laptop or desktop on. We simply turn Q1 on and check news, find places, look maps, even check cooking receipt. It can be used at any place – in kitchen, on bed, or watching TV on sofa. It is easy to hold and browse the web with stylus or the joystick on left of Q1.

GPS: We had an old GPS using serial port. We installed Microsoft Street and Trip 2006 on Q1 and connect this GPS to Q1 through a serial to USB converter. Now, we turn Q1 to a 7” screen GPS navigator. With this big screen, it is easy to find places and navigate to places.

Listen music: Q1 comes with a CF card slot which is gone with new model Q1B. We loaded our mp3 files to a CF card and plug into CD slot. It is easy to listen those mp3s with MS media play. We also use Microsoft Window media Turner, select a online broadcast station and listen music with Q1. One of online stations we like is Beethoven.com. Q1 got a build-in recording software which can be used to record what we are listening.

Play games: it is easy to play games with stylus. We have a lot of fun with this Q1.
